Jump Rope for Heart

Today we participated in Jump Rope for Heart.  The students were extremely enthusiastic and skipped for thirty minutes.  Some students skipped more than 2,000 times during the half hour!  Wow!

Production

Room 7 did an amazing job at production!  Take a look at some photos that were taken by Mrs Andis, the student teacher in Room 3, and some of our writing about the two performances.

Loud yells echoed through the church.  Room 7 was shivering with excitement.  The lights went down like a power cut and the church fell silent like a mouse.  Room 7 waited patiently for their turn.  After Room 8 came off the stage, Room 7 crept back stage.  As the music started again, Room 7 made their two circles.   Room 7 danced they came from Nepal.  It was beautiful.  Our favourite part was when the rock music started because we got to have a change of dance.  We hope that we can dance again sometime!

On the first night of the production we were in the kitchen getting ready to go on stage.  When the music started everyone was happy and nervous.

Production was amazing because everything was put together in a great way. When we did our dance our theme was Katmandu.  We felt nerves as we went on the stage.  The lights were very bright as we danced.  We loved it and we can’t wait for the next one!

We could hear people chattering loudly in front of us as we walked into our lines in the foyer.  Me, Ben, and Emma liked Room 4, Room 6, Room 9 that were before us.  We walked on the stage and we could not help but smile.   My favourite part was when the music changed and everyone looked surprised.  My least favourite part was when we had to wait backstage.  At the end cheers and whoops filled the air.  It was an awesome night!

Production was amazing because everyone tried their hardest and participated.  Our costumes stood out and looked really, really cool.  Our favourite moment was being on stage.  Jayden’s least favourite moment was waiting for our turn.  Joanna and Ethan’s least favourite moment was leading people on and off stage.  We loved production!

It was almost Room 7’s turn.  My heart started pumping out of my chest.  We started dancing and it felt like no time at all.  It was Room 2 and 3’s turn next.  Their song was really cool.  It was really fun doing production.  We loved it.  We were so scared.  We were awesome when we were waiting.  We were being really quite.  We sounded like mice.  We had a favourite it was Room 2/3’s dance.  It was quite fun at production.  We hope we can do it again.

I had bad stage freight.  I felt very, very scared.  I felt very nervous.  I saw lots of people.  I saw a lot of people.  I saw my mum and dad.  I wondered if my mum was recording me, my brother, and my class.  I wondered if my mum and dad liked it.  I wondered if my mum was waving.  We loved the production!
