Insulation Station

I was so impressed by the variety of insulation materials students brought in this week to attempt to keep an ice cube frozen.

We spent time talking about different places insulation is used and its purpose.  We placed our ice cubes in our insulation materials in the morning and monitored them throughout the day.  Some of the materials kept the ice cube frozen throughout the entire day and even into to the evening.  When we arrived at school today, they were all melted.  We'll be spending more time discussing insulation and writing about this activity next week.
